The great nation of Alizarin

I played a web game called Nationstates awhile ago. The premise was simple: Log in daily, check out your countries issues, give an opinion, and watch a news feed from your country. The creator of the game has just released a more action packed sequel, and while it’s still in beta, features such as an in depth trading system and war are just down the pipes for them.

And no, I was not payed to advertise for them. I just like the game.

At the moment, the issue answering part is still there, but now your answers have an actual effect on your nation. For instance, about a week ago I started up solar energy and antibiotics production in my country. Yet a few days ago, I didn’t have enough workers to keep those and my sheep, scooter, and silk markets alive so the solar energy and antibiotics ones collapsed and my country had to spend almost all of my money (4 million cards) to bring them out of the economic slump. Today my country finally started earning some money again, thanks to the booming demand for sheep from my friends in my alliance.

Oh, and alliances are great as well. They help you bring people you know together, and you can vote for the passing of laws and the like. It also helps you keep up trade routes and manage diplomacy, and you are given a forum as an added bonus.

As an after note, war will be added to the game soon. I’m not sure how it works, besides that it will be an expensive endeavor. So far, I’m pretty tense about it because me and another nation have been neck and neck is money for awhile, as well as dire enemies and after my economic slump, he’s ahead by a lot. Things will get bloody once war has been added.
